At last... who would have thought I would rave about Nicole Richie

So after my last tirade slating Mr and Mrs Rooney's almost unbelievable decision to generate a perfectly timed birth of their child to fit in with the international football calendar, I am so pleased to read that Nicole Richie, pregnant with her second child is undergoing hypnosis for her fears around childbirth.

She used this form of preparation with her first child and guess what, had a natural birth, a radical childbirth story it seems in celebville. I am a massive advocate of hypnobirthing (see details below) and did use this and the cd's prior to the birth of my first baby.

I strongly believe the NHS should implement this book free for all pregnant ladies and hypnobirthing courses a neccesity for pregnant couples. You can now get £190 back from the governement towards a hypnobirthing course. http://campaigns.direct.gov.uk/money4mum2be/ this is noted on the Hypnobirthing website http://www.hypnobirthing.co.uk/, I am not sure if you are made aware of this when you go to your antenatal check ups or not. It should be!

It should also be obligatory for midwives to read and practice if not all but some of the hypnobirthing methods.

come and get on it, spread the word... yehaaaaaaa natural births rock!

Mr and Mrs Idiot... o I mean Rooney!

I can not believe a celebrity couple can endorse and promote with the media's help the fact that it is easier and simpler for them to have a Cesarean section as the arrival of their baby is not in time with what is happening with their lives!!!

Is this some kind of joke? Do they not know the basic need for babies to be where possible born naturally?

The average statistics of 25% Cesarean births in some regional places of the UK is bad enough but we now have Mr and Mrs Idiot to promote how they are going to bring forward the birth a few weeks so Mr Idiot can be around. Not only is this not the natural point at which their baby will be ready it is damn right ridiculous.

So I get it, we want our man by are side when we pop out our sprogs, or is it so they can really see the pain of childbirth and how amazing women are? So that they are constantly at our mercy and from that point realise women are the stronger and more powerful sex? or is it yes yes so they can be there to bond, grow and learn with their newborn infant... whatever the reason just because your husband and father of your baby is an intertnational money rich footabller then that makes it ok to disrupt nature and its natural path.

This gets me mad if you hadn't already guessed, why? because the next generation of Mr and Mrs Idiot will believe this is how its done. That you can simply for no other reason then it doesn't fit with you, pick your date to change the course of childrbirth.

The reprocussions = a lot of crazy kids who's entry into this world was pushed, forced and all in all not the way it should be!

Children's Parade - St George's Day

Well happy St George's day one and all. We are off this afternoon to watch the children's parade in Hove on George street in fact! Fin is going to join us there with his Nana and Gramps and he will be sporting his red long sleeve cheeky funky top with, red socks and red nikes! Me and Frazer are going to use as good opportunity to flyer all the spectators. The fact it is glorious sunshine only helps this...a lot.

Today is a slow work day, my head just is not engaging so a short trip to sit on the pebbles just now was what the doc ordered. o the joy of living and now working yards from Hove seafront.

Loving it.

In loving rememberance to my dear friend Lindsay Tripp - RIP 1978-2009

Sadly last week my beautiful and amazing friend Lindsay Tripp passed away suddenly at her home in East London. She had Cystic Fibrosis but had been very well of late so came as quite a shock to hear the news.

She was one of my closest buddies and simply an amazing friend. Our lives in the last few years moved from seeing each other all the time in London, I have got married and lived down by the sea, have had a little baby Fin (who Lindsay made giggle in only the way she can), and she in turn settled with Tom her boyfriend, making such tracks in her amazing career as a regeneration consultant for Renaisi in Hackney, but we always would get in touch on the phone or email or meet up when it somehow seemed we needed to. Sixth sense or something but eerily comfortable and easy to just pick up where we left off. She had that knack and I remember even on first meeting her in 2000 I knew instantly we were going to be firm friends. Ben my brother invited her round when we first moved to Kilburn, she floated in with her ease and kindness and an instant little giggle assured me she was a pure cracker. We continued to giggle our way to being great friends with the same ease.

During her trip to Brazil at the start of 2003 she kindly loaned me her room in her Kentish Town flat whilst I was between places and was in fact around this time I met my now husband. It was the magic of her and her vibes around me (or so she said ), and we giggled even then over email about how I had met the man for me (our first date was 26th March by coincidence!). I know she too was in that place just recently and loved her flat, job and Tom.

I feel privileged to have shared some ‘Lindsay’ time and to have learned and grown with her through our 20’s in London. I can honestly say she has been a true inspiration to me even before her passing and now just has catapulted me to be as courageous, empowering, strong and in the moment as she always lived her life - A pure bundle of joy and energy that I will keep in my heart and mind always. I loved her very much.
