Cheeky Funky is on the move

wow its so exciting! Cheeky Funky http://www.cheekyfunky.com is on the move to a little mews in central Hove, close to the sea and with a lot of lovely creative people in the mews too its should be great fun! Frazer is coming too and Uncle Ben with his magazine You Got Papped so at last somewhere to GO to work and really focus and hopefully be inspired each day. It is so hard to work from home, now in my 4th year at a home office I am so over the moon. We have been lucky to have the studio in the garden, but not leaving your home somedays, and not seeing anyone other than occasionally the window cleaner and the postman is hard work on your energy levels. The mews is just cute and a stones throw from the glorious hove promenade, also a stones throw from a few good pubs for lunch and a short bus ride into Brighton centre. Best of all it is really reasonable, no long contracts and a really good vibe. yipeeeee! bring it on.

The lessons I learned this weekend from Jade Goody!

I am not sure why i feel the need to write about Jade Goody, I am not a fan of her particularly or big brother, well not anymore and not probably since the summer that Jade Goody was in the house. I watched in shock horror by this down to earth, common girl, larking about, having no responsibilities, and so it seemed no issues in a completely mad and untamed kinda way. Over the years I have caught bits of her on TV and my overriding thought is she is just as it is - which is fine and I have no opinion either way of her.

She left Big Brother as a runner up and then Jade Goody's story began, from the glitzy shows she attended to the horrific childhood she had had. A child of a drug fuelled mother, a child who had to fend for herself. This weekend I felt so sad as I read her story again, a child still really who now has to leave her two children to fend for themselves. Love her or hate her she is a personality, she is still pursuing her life in the media bullring to make sure that her children have a different start to her, an education, a nice house but sadly still no mum to bring them up.

Jade who I thought was fairly unintelligent, lacking in decorum, style or grace really spoke the truth on Friday when she found out that in two months she would be dead. I guess that's what death does. It seems to make you wise before your years because maybe in a sick way that's all the time you have left to say your piece and leave your mark. A truth that she spoke that struck a cord with me was that she is a mother and her biggest fear was to not see her children grow, develop and have the life she wishes for them. I simply can not imagine this. She cant teach them her way and she cant be sure that the values she wanted for their life will be kept - because she simply wont be here to do it!

I learned a lot in reading Jade Goody's story this weekend. I learned that we should love every moment and enjoy our children every second... so often they are niggley, tantruming, or being pickles but they also smile (lots), giggle (lots) and love to love you. I learned as a women I need to keep a check on my health - go for my smear test regularly and to count my blessings for my body, my mind and my health.

I put my heart and soul into http://www.cheekyfunky.com so much time and pressure and sometimes I miss Fin's smiles, today and every day from now I really am going to love them!

Grandma has come to visit

Fin was so excited today as Grandma P has come to visit and he was keen to show off his new voice! It has got loud since the last time she came to stay and he has a lot to chat about, no real words yet but hey he is a boy, and only 16 months!! He has adopted the nanananana noise but neither of his grandmothers are wanting to be a nana so is somewhat wasted. Maybe a while before he says 'grandma'. Uncle Ben is pleased though as after a week in a tiny ski chalet the word Ben seems to be easier to get to grips with. Mummy recognised though that Fin was trying to tell Grandma how much he likes mummies new cheeky funky hats and that wearing it out and about has drawn a lot of interest. She loves the new colours and thinks her grandson looks very cute with his Cheeky Funky hat on. Anyway we are off to have some fun by the sea for the afternoon and maybe throw some pebbles out in the water to make some big splashes.

Finally at the printers

Yesterday the new girl and boy tops were headed to the printers and hope to be back with us by the end of feb.

We are very excited about these new ranges and offer some great diversity to the Cheeky Funky brand. 4 new girl designs, crazy cook, disco dee, flower power and wild angel. 2 new boy designs, smiley sheriff and rad racer.

Loving the new website

wow so at last the new cheeky funky website is live!

It is great for us as we now have all the functionality to offer great deals and discounts, upload all the wicked new products and be a lot more up to date quickly. We have started getting some great links to other funky and cool websites. A lot of new photos from the shoot and behind the scenes are now on there.

French babies love Cheeky Funky!

So we got back on sunday from our first Skiing trip adventure with Fin our little 16 month old... not sure how much he liked the snow but he did have fun off at the creche whilst mummy went off trying to damage herself on the slopes. Obviously decked out in the latest Cheeky Funky tshirts, hats etc he had a lot of attention from the French mummies and daddies who loved the bright colours. Bonjour France here we come!
